Collinge Antiques has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
Over a deeper base, also glazed, with two doors and a single shaped shelf (internal depth 8¾"). Walnut veneers with extensive floral marquetry inlays. Raised pediment and arched top glazed panels to the top cabinet, flared mouldings to the upper and lower edges of both cabinets. Raised on tapering square legs joined with a shaped stretcher, all inlaid to match, and turned bun feet. Original velvet lining fabric to the interior, note also the plate grooves at the back edges of the shelves. Attractive period gilded and pieced escutcheons to the keyholes. Some typical old wear and repairs to the veneers, otherwise excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Keys supplied.
