This is an antique banker''s chest of drawers. An English, oak tallboy in Aesthetic Period taste by Maple & Co, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1890.
 
Exceptional craftsmanship with rich colour and a suite of features
 
Displays a desirable aged patina and in very good order
 
Select oak stocks present fine grain interest and rich biscuit hues
 
Offers a suite of five graduated drawers and a pair of storage compartments
 
Stout top secured with a Bramah lock — in working order, key present
 
Well proportioned storage to the front section, with a through-pin to the rear
 
Once removed, a writer''s repository with pen trays opens at the rear edge
 
Drawers dressed with brass drop handles over shaped backplates
 
Each drawer lock operates with one of the three supplied keys
 
Maple & Co''s maker''s mark to be found on the upper edge of the drawer front
