Hindley & Sons Armchair
C.Hindley & Sons, 134 Oxford Street, London. (1820-1892)
Stamped Castors with a number to the back leg.
Width 76cm x Depth 90cm x Height 86cm with a seat height of 33cm and depth 59cm.
In my opinion, a rare example. Rare to see this design, which is an enduring design frequently attributed as ''howard style'' and associated with Howard and Sons, but this one by C.Hindley and Sons who were an exhibition quality maker in their own right.
The upholstery is in reasonable useable condition without any issues structurally but the fabric has small stains and wear in places as per the photographs.
