Pair Of Kashmiri Polychrome Table Lamps - Early 20th Century

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Vicky Thomas Antiques

Here are a beautiful pair of antique wooden Indian Kashmiri lamp bases with Polychrome decoration in red on a black ground with an underlay of yellow ochre.

The lamps are made from lacquered wood with incised red foliage tendrils and flowers covering the base and columns. Underneath the top is a beautiful peacock feather design, the reds and yellows standing out brightly against the black background.

The lamps have been fully rewired by antique lighting specialist Agapanthus Interiors in Stockport, and have been fitted with smart black corded cables.

The lamps are in antique condition with some paint flakes and losses, revealing the ochre colouring underneath, but for me personally, this adds to their look and charm. Please check out the photographs to ensure that this is to your taste - both are stable and secure.

The lamps come with modern lampshades - I bought these for the photos - you''re very welcome to have them and they would of course come free of charge.

Please do not hesitate to get i touch if I can provide any further information or photographs.

I offer free delivery to mainland UK, and am very happy to help with quotes for shipping overseas.
