Regency 12" Convex Dial Fusee Wall Clock

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Clockwise

Clockwise is delighted to present for your consideration a fine early Victorian English eight day fusee timepiece dial clock.

Finished in lovely oak with the narrow wooden surround typical of its time this is a stunning piece of furniture dating from the 1820-1830 period. The case has a lovely patina and is of a standard pegged design with the surround pegged to the back box. The original cast bezel closes firmly and frames the lovingly restored twelve inch convex dial within the turned surround perfectly; original steel hands finish off the glorious appearance. The maker''s name is present - Wilson of Cambridge - who was a watchmaker and jeweller situated at 23 Market Hill in Cambridge. There is both a lower door and side door to the case and the eight day high quality movement, which has tapered shoulders to the plates (again, typical of the late Georgian/early Victorian period), has just been serviced with new line fitted and comes with my three year worldwide guarantee as standard. An original fusee ''butterfly'' key accompanies this rare piece.

Clockwise specialises in longcase and bracket clocks and with clients from the world of business, film, sport, royalty and aristocracy - yet more than happy with traditional clients - Clockwise has an unrivalled reputation for excellence and superb service.
