A charming Japanese Meiji/Taisho period gold lacquer Kodansu decorated with birds in flowering branches on the front and landscape scenes on the sides and top, comprising four draws, with Nashiji ground interior & metal handles, 3 of which in the form of a pomegranate. There is a small chip to the corner of one draw otherwise the cabinet is in excellent overall condition standing 3 ¼ inches tall. These splendid cabinets are ideal for keeping jewellery.
