Shown is a peasant woman in 18th-century dress, spreading seeds with her right hand and holding her dress with her left hand to form a small seed pouch; accompanying her is a matching peasant man resting on a spade.

Bernard Bloch was a pre-eminent entrepreneur in the field of ceramic industry and was one of the greatest Jugendstil ceramists in Austria-Hungary. He established the famous factory B. Bloch & Co. which participated in many exhibitions and was rewarded each time (for example, the Gold Medal at the Universal Exposition of St. Louis).

Theodore Schoop is a recognized world-class master designer. His works adorn the best museums in the world.
Both figurines impressed to the base with the signature of T. Schoop and marked with design number 7812 (lady) and 7813 (gentleman) ; additionally gentleman impressed with the number 2, and lady with number 6 .
