Founders Antiques has dated this piece to the Regency era.
The base is raised on four cabriole legs with bold scroll-carved feet and roundel details, united by an elegant bobbin-turned X-stretcher with central turned finial.

A generously sized and versatile piece, its scale and stance set it apart from more conventional footstools, lending it a more multipurpose character, ideal as a decorative low stool or occasional seat in a reception space or bay window.

Presented in very good antique condition with a warm aged patina and minor wear to the upholstery consistent with age. Structurally sound, clean and ready to place in the home.
English, circa 1830s.
