A lovely little Victorian swallow in solid silver set with turquoise cabochons and a little red garnet eye. The swallow sits on a sturdy rolled rose gold pin.

In Victorian England a flying swallow was traditionally considered a token of good luck and the bird represented enduring love and loyalty, as the swallow mates for life.

The swallow is in excellent antique condition, there is some wear to the gold surface of the safety pin.

Size: The brooch is 3.7cm long in total, the swallow measures approximately 2 x 1.5cm.
