Iona Silver Caddy Spoon, Alexander Ritchie, 1933

Description

A beautiful Celtic decorated silver long handled caddy spoon. Made by the great Arts and Crafts silversmith Alexander Ritchis who along with his wife Euphemia lived and worked on Iona on the west coast of Scotland. As with many of his silver pieces it was assayed in Birmingham in 1933. The shank of the spoon show Celtic knotwork and mythical beasts. It is in excellent condition with no damage or repairs. A great collectors piece.
