Georgian Horn Reading Glass Loop. C1800.

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Jo Brayshaw

Georgian Horn Reading Glass Loop. C1800. The magnifying glass folds into the main cow horn body, the original lens has a few scratches from 200 years of sliding into the body, nothing drastic, see images. The horn is pristine and a great colour, all the pins are as good as the day it was made. These loops were intended for reading and often associated with military use. Measures 4 inches (10cm) top to bottom when fully open, lovely piece, very tactile. Probably Scottish. All my photos are taken using natural light only. Our ref 9451.
