Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Established in 1796 in Toxteth, Liverpool, the Herculaneum Pottery produced fine earthenware and porcelain. Their pieces from the Regency era are noted for refined potting, botanical hand-painting, and detailed gilt decoration.

Regency English porcelain was typically manufactured using bone china or soft-paste bodies composed of kaolin, china stone, and bone ash, decorated with polychrome overglaze enamels and hand-applied gold leaf.

Authentication involves checking for impressed factory marks such as HERCULANEUM, evaluating painted pattern numbers on the underside, examining paste translucency, and assessing period-appropriate wear along the foot rim.

Decorative porcelain plates can be positioned on plate stands across a sideboard top, arranged symmetrically in a wall display, or staged within open glazed bookcases to provide historical colour and pattern.

Clean gently using lukewarm water and a mild fluid soap, avoiding abrasive sponges, dishwashers, or chemical cleaners that can rub away overglaze enamels and gilding. Allow items to air dry completely.
