18th century French portrait. Oil on canvas, well executed and showing expressive wry smile - perhaps because the translation Prętre denotes a cleric. There is some historical restoration to the painting. Unsigned. Verso inscription ''M.P.M Mr Joseph Chrisostome Lemoine Prętre Paris 1747 Pour Mrs Catherine Remy 1775.'' Later frame.
