A beautiful antique French gilt bronze clock by A. D. Mougin.
To the top is an urn with pinapple finial and handles formed as torches entwined with foliage. The front of the clock is of pieced foliage to allow a glimpse of the pendulum gently swinging within.
The dial is porcelain enamel on copper with a gilt bronze centre, original blued steel hands and convex glass.
The French movement is of high quality and is by A. D. Mougin. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is an old replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration. The dial is also in very good condition just some nibbles and a light crack near the left hand winding hole.
A D Mougin clockmakers mark on the movement back plate along with that of the retailer
Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
