Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Sevres style porcelain incorporates design elements derived from the Royal Manufacture of Sevres, established in eighteenth-century France. Nineteenth-century interpretations often feature rich ground colours such as cobalt or celeste blue, hand-painted floral panels, elaborate spiral fluting, and ornate gilt-bronze mounts.

These decorative urns were constructed from hard-paste or soft-paste porcelain, painted by hand with overglaze enamels and gilding. The structural mountings, handles, and decorative bases were typically cast in bronze and finished with fire-gilding or electroplated ormolu.

Identification involves inspecting the glaze texture, painted decoration, and foundry marks on metal mounts. Authentic period pieces exhibit refined brushwork, appropriate surface wear to the gilded elements, and structural construction such as central threaded iron rods.

Positioning a symmetrical pair atop a contemporary sideboard, marble mantelpiece, or console table creates a balanced focal point. The vibrant blue and gold tones pair effectively with neutral palettes, architectural panelling, or dark wooden surfaces.

Clean porcelain surfaces using a soft, dry microfibre cloth to avoid disrupting overglaze enamel or leaf gilding. Metal mounts should not be cleaned with harsh chemical polishes; gentle dusting prevents tarnish without removing the historical patina.
