Pair Of Japanese Satsuma Vases Kinkozan Meiji Period

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Jon Irvine Antiques

A stunning pair of Japanese Meiji period Satsuma vases by Kinkozan, of hexagonal form with a cobalt blue ground and serenely painted panels front and back, one side with geisha amongst cherry blossoms, the other with birds in flowering branches. These beautiful vases are highlighted with gilded floral border work around the panels, foot and rim, and both are signed in a gilt seal on the underside. There is typical minor rubbing to the gilding otherwise both vases are in excellent condition with no damage or restoration standing 6 inches tall.
