An 18th Century Oak Architect’s Table, C.1740

An unusual 18th century oak Architect’s table in remarkably original condition. C.1740-50. The planked and moulded top above a plain frieze, retaining the original kidney escutcheon. Raised on four, straight cabriole legs carved with lappets. The top opens to reveal the interior with an adjustable writing surface, retaining the original ‘penny-end’ hinges and tooled leather surface. Of wonderful colour and patina. A useful size for use as a desk or centre table.
