Large Antique 19th Century Solid Silver Paste Stone Religious Saint Brooch

£350    $474    €412
An European Antique 18th century Solid Silver and Paste brooch served as an adornment for religious Saints'' costumes. Crafted during the Georgian period, this brooch represents the artistic taste of the 18th century.

Made from Solid Silver, the brooch carries the elegance and craftsmanship of the era, weighing 52 grams. The use of Paste jewels, a special flint glass invented by Georges Frederic Stras in 1724 in France, adds a touch of sophistication. These Paste jewels were renowned for their ability to imitate gemstones, making them a popular choice for jewelry during the Georgian period.

Measuring an impressive 15cm x 10cm, features five Paste jewels. This piece carries with it the history of religious attire during the 18th century.
