Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

During the 19th century, religious jewellery and devotional tokens frequently featured symbolic motifs such as crowns, which represented sainthood, martyrdom, or celestial royalty within Christian iconography.

These pieces were typically crafted from solid silver using repousse and chasing techniques, inset with hand-cut paste stones made from leaded glass designed to emulate precious gems like rubies and diamonds.

Authentic pieces feature foil-backed closed settings, hand-cut stone facets, period maker marks or purity stamps, and natural tarnish along silver joins.

These brooches can be worn on coat lapels, heavy scarves, or collars, or displayed securely within velvet-lined shadow frames alongside other period decorative items.

Wipe the surface gently with a soft microfibre cloth, avoiding liquid cleaners or submersion in water to prevent damage to the foil backing behind the paste stones.
