Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Carved oak angel sculptures from the seventeenth century are ecclesiastical or architectural timber figures created during the Baroque era, originally designed to adorn altars, pulpits, or religious interiors.

These sculptures were carved from solid oak, chosen for its structural density and durability, and were frequently embellished with gesso, polychrome paint, or natural beeswax polishes.

Authentic period carvings exhibit hand-chiselled tool marks, natural timber shrinkage along the grain structure, and aged wear patterns alongside residual gesso or historic paint layers.

A pair of carved wooden figures can be positioned symmetrically on a sideboard top, mantelpiece, or within architectural shelving to create visual texture against contemporary surfaces.

Maintain the timber figures in a stable environment away from direct heat sources, dust gently with a soft dry brush, and apply a clear microcrystalline wax sparingly to protect the wood surface.
