An excellent quality late 19th century French CARRIAGE CLOCK in perfect working order. The “gorge” case is of substantial size, with bevelled glass panels to all sides and a large bevelled glass panel to the top. The eight-day movement with its platform lever escapement, strikes hours and half-hours on a gong, repeating hours at will. Fine enamel dial and original Breguet “moon” hands. Retailed by E. White, of London and Paris as indicated both on the dial and on an unusual engraved oval plaque beneath. Guaranteed at least two years. 7ins (17.75cms) high, handle up.
