Description

A fine bronze sculpture of a female nude resting on a rock titled "The Bather" with good patination and standing on a rosso antico marble base by Ferdinand Lepcke during his time in Italy. 660mm high and 280mm diameter. Roma, 1893.

Ferdinand Lepcke (1866–1909)

In 1893, at the age of 27, he was awarded by the Prussian Academy of Arts the great state prize, consisting of a scholarship year in Rome: there he could refine his knowledge of ancient sculpture. Further study trips took him to France, Copenhagen and Denmark.
