16th Century Elm Boarded Chest C. 1580

Description

A very good and original example of a 16th Century six plank boarded elm chest with thumbnail edge detail on V cut supports. Lovely untouched condition with original lock plate (latch appears later c. 1700). A couple of old splits - long since stable and the chest is very sound, heavy and in superb condition and with fabulous colour.
