1900 - 1920
Description

Antique Edwardian Marquetry Bookends .

Please note; listing is for the book ends only, other items are not included but may be available separately.

Charming Antique bookends.

We bring to you these rare excellent condition fine quality & elegant Edwardian marquetry inlaid bookends made around C1900. These ornate bookends feature Satinwood and Boxwood inlays in a floral pattern incorporating 2 birds and embellished with black accents enhanced with their highly glazed original fine French polished finish. The bookends are hinged and fold flat with the base tapering to a point.

These lovely original bookends allow books to be placed almost anywhere without falling and look fantastically decorative when not in use.

Please note; This item is in very good condition for its age but will obviously have the odd bump and imperfection here and there due to the age of the item. However, we feel that this adds to the charm and authenticity of the item with it being antique.

Archival Detail
Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
