Rare Antique English Cranberry Lined Dish - Turkey - Elkington 1872 - Silver Plate

Description

Buy this one early for Thanksgiving or Christmas, you won't see another. I would like to think this was made for Cranberry sauce, with the beautifully cast Turkey on top of the lid and the original hand-blown Cranberry Glass liner - exceptional!

The rim of the base is beautifully scalloped with a beaded finish, most attractive. The dish stands on four claw & ball feet. The underside has a full mark for the Elkington Electro-plate, with the date letter L which dates this piece to 1872.

The plate is in excellent condition and glass without damage. 5" tall to top of Turkey finial, 6 3/4" in diameter with the liner having a diameter measuring 5 3/4". Happy 2011 Turkey day!!
