Description

A good example of an original WW2 era shell carrier, used by the military to carry artillery ammunition. It is of typical cylindrical form covered in brown leather with a leather carrying handle and lined with canvas. It has a very nice polychrome armorial coat of arms applied to the front of the carrier.

The underneath is stamped "No.57 III. B.H&G Ltd. 3-1945" and there is also a military crows foot stamped on the front of the case.

It is in excellent condition for its age. The leather has a beautiful worn and aged patina without having suffered any major damages or losses. There are of course signs of age and use and some minor scuffs and losses but nothing detrimental. The coat of arms is still bright and vibrant, the handle is in excellent condition and the lining is generally clean with no tears.
