The work box with a stepped lid, cornered with gilt brass acorns and oak leaves. The centre with an acorn and oak leaf tablet.
The silk picture within a gilt tooled Morocco frame. The body of the box containing a lift out ray and lower compartment fitted for various sewing requirements. The body mounted with an acorn and oak leaf escutcheon, with lock and key. Either end mounted with gilt brass lion mask ring handles. The box standing on hairy lions paw feet.
Height 5 1/4 inches, 13cm.
Width 11 1/4 inches, 29cm.
Depth 8 inches, 20cm.
Date circa 1820.
