Beautiful Japanese Meiji/Taisho (early 20thC) red (Vermillion) lacquer document box (Bunko) with superb peony design in rich takamaki-e and mother-of-pearl on the lid that extends over the sides and ends. Supplied in original lacquered wood box with inscription. Measures 24.5cm x 17cm x 10cm.
