Tinker & Toad has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
This is the third time we have stocked this model and they are becoming harder to find. This particular chair was illustrated in the 'Pictorial Dictionary of British 19th Century Furniture Design' which dates the chair at 1884 and attributes it to the Heal's London. The firm was the forerunner of the modern day retailer. Condition wise wear is commensurate with age, the bottom left corner of leather has a small loss as shown in the photos which doesn't overly detract from the chair. Overall a very comfortable armchair that's easy on the eye! Seat height 44cm.
