Antique Pair Of Japanese Bronze Meiji Period Chicken Vases By Akasofu Gyoko

A superb pair of Japanese Meiji period (1868 - 1912) bronze vases in high relief depicting a chicken feeding amongst flowers and branches on one vase, whilst a cockerel watches over her on the other, signed by the highly regarded metal worker Akasofu Gyoko. These beautiful vases are a heavy gauge with a combined weight of 2.7Kg and the pair are in excellent condition standing 9 ½ inches tall.
