Here is a fantastic two seater rush Bobbin bench, with Arts and Crafts decoration to the oaken plank back.
Made from both Oak and Beech wood, the bench comprises of a woven rush seat, a centrally carved oak plank back rest, and extensive bobbin supports to the arms and back.
This seat really has a striking appearance, and whilst single seats in this design are to be found it is very unusual to find this type of bench in the double width.
The oak plank back really catches the eye with a rich deep patina, decorated with two carved trees, central spirals and supported on four turned bobbin spindles.
The bench is in great antique condition, and is sturdy and strong. There is the expected surface wear commensurate with its age, and the rush seat has some very minor losses in places, but as I hope the photographs show, it displays beautifully and would be a wonderful and useful addition to any home.
Please so not hesitate to contact me if I can provide any further information or photographs.
