Antique Regency Mahogany Sideboard

An outstanding condition original Regency period sideboard.

We are delighted to bring to you the finest example of a rare Georgian Regency period (circa 1820) chiffonier sideboard made from fine quality Mahogany. The sideboard features its original pitched shelf back flanked by simple pillars on the rear to beautifully turned and fluted front supports which support the cross-band edged shelf. This sideboard also features a lined cutlery drawer complete with its original green baize and the finest flame grain book-matched Mahogany to the locking panel cupboard doors. Attached to either side of the Mahogany panel doors are its beautiful Mahogany pillars which match the shelf back embellished by 2 beautifully carved corbels.

This sideboard is in outstanding original condition featuring its original beautiful lightly faded highly polished French polished finish with a stunning rich Mahogany colour. The sideboard also features fine quality turned knobs and brass keyhole escutcheons in front of its original working warded brass locks with its original key. The finely dovetailed drawer is smoothly operating and is clean inside as is the inside of the cupboard which features 2 fully height adjustable shelves. As a sign of quality the shelf edges and divider inside the cupboard are lipped and scratch moulded with Mahogany to the front faces.

This item has been fully checked over in our workshop, we have carefully cleaned and waxed this sideboard maintaining its original patina.

Please note; This item is in fantastic condition for its age as shown by the photographs below. Being an antique item of this age there are obviously marks, scratches and dents, however, we feel that these points are which adds to its charm and character to a piece.

Also note, the rear up-stand is removable and may be removed for delivery to protect it (re-attached via simply locating and 'dropping on' to the base).
