For sale is a fine and rare Victorian burr walnut, amboyna, goncalo alves, pearwood, burr yew and harewood marquetry credenza stamped ''Gillow & co''. Having a diamond form parquetry top above a profusely inlaid frieze over two doors with ebonised marquetry doors opening to a shelved interior flanked by two serpentine glass doors separate with fine carved turned and gilded columns, standing on turned feet. The credenza features incredibly fine and well matched timbers throughout and is adorned by quality brass work. The piece is in very good, original condition, showing slight wear and very minor losses for its age. In the past similar examples have been exhibited at fairs such as Olympia and have been sold in the region of £35,000.
