Gents 1940s German Military Glycine Wrist Watch

Gents 1940s German military Glycine wrist watch.

The watch has the Swiss AS 1130 hand-winding movement, signed Glycine, which is working nicely. There are a couple of empty screw holes within the movement, these are for retaining screws but, in this case, the screws are not needed as the movement is held in place by the retaining ring.

The watch measures 33mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is chromium plated while the case back, stamped with the German military reference, is stainless steel. The D and H, either side of the serial number, refer to either Deutsche Heer (German Army) or Dienstuhr Heer (Service Timepiece Army). It is also marked as Wasserdicht and Stahl Boden (waterproof and stainless steel, although should now be kept away from water and moisture). General surface marking to the case but overall very acceptable for a 1940s piece.

The lens is in lovely condition (some reflection showing in the photos).

The signed dial is in its original finish with original hands (possibly overpainted at some stage). There is a mark between 11 and 12 although you have to look quite carefully to see it.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
