17th Century Oak joint stool having the rare feature of a wonderful original thick Elm top of outstanding colour and patina. In fabulous original condition having the turned bun feet to the base, all original pegs throughout. Visible on the image of the underneath are pointed pegs, pegs were pointed to help them travel through the hole between the rail and legs, these holes were drilled offset so the the rail would shut tight against the leg.
An interesting example in perfect original condition, the dry clean underneath surface to the underneath is just what we want to see.
