Tinker & Toad has dated this piece to the 1910s.
Condition with the trunk has been lightly restored retaining its historical patina and is in good used condition. There is wear to the leather edges and one handle has been restored. A good quality trunk ideal for storage but also look great when used as a coffee or bedside table.

Michel Flandin founded the company Au Touriste Paris in 1847. They traded from 36 bis Avenue de l'Opera, Paris. They supplied a wide array of luxury leather merchandise such as automotive trunks, steamer trunks, travel wardrobes, mail trunks and other various leather goods. Their advertising logo along with a very early photo of their premises are shown in the last two photos. You will notice the brass trade plate on the trunk matches the humorous image of the hotel porter and doorman carrying the gentlemen's luggage!
