Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Sir Edwin Landseer was a prominent nineteenth-century British painter renowned for his detailed animal depictions, particularly dogs. His popular original compositions were widely reproduced as steel engravings and lithographs to satisfy strong public demand for domestic canine artwork.

Victorian prints were typically executed on heavy woven paper using steel plate engraving, etchings, or lithography techniques. These were framed under glass within substantial timber mouldings, frequently crafted from oak, walnut, or stained pine.

Authentic period prints usually exhibit visible plate marks along the paper border, publisher and engraver text along the lower edge, and characteristic signs of age such as subtle paper toning or minor foxing.

These classic artworks function well in traditional schemes such as a hallway, study, or library. They can also be integrated into modern gallery walls to introduce historic character alongside contemporary furnishings.

To preserve paper quality, display the framed print away from direct sunlight and areas of high humidity. Ensure the artwork is mounted using acid-free materials and framed behind UV-filtering glass.
