Description

A well crafted antique 19th century mahogany commode armchair. The antique commode armchair has a bar backrest with open arms with a square shaped seat. The seat has a hinge, which lifts up to reveal the commode. A particularly pleasing example of an antique commode.

Height – 87.5cm / Width - 53.5cm / Depth - 55.5cm / Seat Height - 45.5cm

CONDITION REPORT:

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks and scratches to the seat, arms and back. There is evidence of historic woodworm inside the commode (pictured), however this is now long gone and has been fully treated as a precaution. The right hand side hinge is loose, however, the lid is fully functional and the commode armchair remains structurally solid and sound. Overall, a great example of an antique 19th century oak commode armchair.
