Description

The finest quality 19th century amboyna writing desk. Of excellent construction with stunning amboyna veneers onto a solid mahogany carcas. Embellished with inlaid detailing in ebony and walnut , with brass surrounds to the drawer fronts and a brass gallery to the top. The superstructure has two banks of 3 drawers and the table itself with a long central drawer flanked by two pairs of drawers. All drawers are lockable, key supplied. Fitted with a sumptuous green leather writing surface complete with gilt tooled decoration. Standing on elegant square tapering legs with inlay. This desk is finished to the rear so could be free standing with a room if desired. Offered for sale in excellent condition with a rich colour and patina, ready to go straight into the home.
