Nicolaas Bruynesteyn (1893 - 1950), Still Life of a Saltglaze Flagon with Apples on a Table, oil on canvas, circa 1930, signed BRUYNESTEYN lower left, within a white painted frame.

31.5cm x 25.5cm (canvas size 24.5cm x 18.5cm)

Nicolaas Bruynesteyn was born in Nieuwer Amstel (the Netherlands) in 1893 and was a grandson of the artist Bernard Bruynesteyn (1830 - 1920). He attended the Quellinus School of Art in Amsterdam from 1908 - 1911 and the Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague from 1917 - 1919. Bruynesteyn is best known for painting still lives and city views with canals and landscapes.
