A fine quality flame mahogany abattant or escritoire. The fabulous veneers are all book matched which gives a stunning appearance. The cushion moulded top having a pie crust carved edge with carved finials to the front corners. Below is a full width drawer with applied mouldings and mother of pearl escutcheon. The conforming beautifully figured mahogany fall opens to reveal a very good interior consisting of 3 banks of 3 and 1 full width rosewood and boxwood inlaid drawers all retaining the original ebonised pulls inlaid with mother of pearl. The lower section having 3 graduated drawers again all with applied mouldings and mother of pearl escutcheons. The stiles have octagonal columns leading to the carved lion’s paw feet.
