Fabulous Quality Victorian Gothic Honey Oak Centre Table

19th century
Description

An attractive honey coloured oak centre table of great quality and style. Standing on six legs each terminating in all brass cups & castors. Carved & turned features throughout with curved, shaped end stretcher rails joined by turned fret gallery style mid stretcher rail. The rectangular form top has canted corners above lions mask features each fitted with a brass ring. The frieze rails are leaf carved.

Almost certainly individually made originally for a significant country house but unfortunately I cannot find any signature or stamp on the piece so have been as yet unable to provenance its original location.

Suitable as an impressive reception or hall table, for use as a desk or four place dining table, possibly as a stage setting item, lamp table or other uses.
