1930s Cyma full hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a 15 jewel, 3 adjustments Swiss stem-winding movement , which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the Cyma calibre 998 and 15 jewels, 3 adjustments, Swiss made. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

Cyma was founded by two brothers, Joseph and Theodore Schwob, in 1862. In 1892 they decided to go into partnership with Frédéric Henri Sandoz, owner of Henri Sandoz et Cie. The Cyma name was officially registered in 1903. Sandoz used the most modern of manufacturing processes and produced very high quality time-pieces, trademarked as Tavannes, Cyma and Cyma Tavannes. Their excellent reputation for quality meant that by 1910, Tavannes / Cyma were one of the largest Swiss watch manufacturers in existence. State, or Stayte, was one of the brand names used by the company.

The watch measures 50.6mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the loop. The case is gold plated and is the Star model made by the Dennison Watch Case Company. The case has a small “ding” to the edge of the front cover and light surface marking from use but overall it is in nice condition for a 1930s piece.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside there is a glass lens which has a small faint circle outline although hardly noticeable but otherwise it is in nice condition.

The dial is in nice condition and it has its original blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
