Everett Mellor 1878-1965.Landscape painter in both watercolour and oil.Born in London England he was the son of William Mellor,a renowned landscape artist.Everett was taught by his father,and his style is very similar to that of William’s with whom his work are sometimes confused.Both father and son had a wonderful eye for composition and their choice of landscape is superb, taking inspiration from the landscapes of North Wales and the North East of England.Bilton Woods is two miles north east of Harrogate and like Richmond Castle is also located in picturesque North Yorkshire. ‘ On the Nidd,Bilton Woods and Richmond Castle, from the Swale , Yorkshire’ pair signed oils on board, each inscribed with title verso,each image size 23.5x34 cms,framed size 37.7x48 cms.Newly framed in period style frames.
