Pyrontique has dated these Art Deco Ibex Bookends to the 1930s.
Moreau studied under Francois Jouffroy in Paris at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts. He exhibited at the Salon of French artists from 1863 to 1914, where he received medals for his work. He produced a variety of decorative and everyday objects, including vases, statues, trays and bookends.

The stylish bookends are cast in crisp clean spelter with a cold painted green and bronzed effect finish. They stand on marble bases with a high gloss lacquer finish.
In good condition with age-related losses to the paintwork - please see the photos.
