This quality Barrister's wig which is manufactured by top wig maker Ravenscroft Law dates from c1900, is made of woven horsehair, marked with the maker's label of Patentee. Ravenscroft, Star Yard, Lincolns Inn Fields, number 1 to the inside and also with a label with the original owner's name.

This antique wig which comes complete with it's black and gold toleware Ravenscroft tin which is marked to the top with the owner's name of S Chapman Esq reads the same as to the inside of the wig. Also marked to the inside with Ravenscroft Law. Wig & Robe Makers. Lincolns Inns. London.

A very nice original antique piece that also includes some court collars.

Dimensions of tin: Length: 25.5 cm (10"). Width: 18 cm (7"). Height: 10 cm (4").

Approx dimensions of wig: Length: 17 cm (6 3/4"). Width: 18 cm (7").

Condition: Very good antique condition with some signs of use in keeping with age. Some light wear to tin.
