Early 19th C Crushed Glass Decorated Tray

Description

An Early 19th Century Oval Tray.

The tray with a mahogany frame, the rim with a concave inner edge, and straight sided outer edge, the top and outer edge inlaid with boxwood stringing, the tray mounted to either end with brass scrolled and shaped carrying handles. The centre of the tray with a classical Adam oval fan, surrounded by radiating and swagged harebells, finished to either end with scrolling flower filled flourishes. The design formed by gilt wire, filled with coloured crushed glass.

Date circa 1820.

Height 2 1/4 inches, 5.5cm.

Width 22 inches, 56cm.

Depth 10 3/4 inches, 27cm.

An Early 19th Century Oval Tray.
