Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating in the late 19th century, Anglo-Persian furniture incorporates Islamic and Middle Eastern architectural elements, such as horseshoe arches and geometric mother-of-pearl inlay, into traditional British cabinet making. Retailers such as Liberty & Co. popularised these exotic designs during the Aesthetic Movement.

These pieces were typically constructed from dark hardwoods such as rosewood, mahogany, or walnut, inlaid with mother-of-pearl, bone, or contrasting timbers. Glazed panels and silk linings were frequently incorporated into the upper compartments.

Authentic pieces often feature distinct geometric marquetry, horseshoe-arched open shelving, and characteristic fretwork pediments. While some examples bear stamped metal makers plates or painted inventory numbers on the underside, many were unmarked but identifiable by construction methods and catalogued design profiles.

An inlaid cabinet serves as a focal point in a hallway, living room, or study. Placing it against a modern neutral background or pairing it with contemporary artwork creates a balanced contrast between historical craft and modern aesthetics.

Keep the cabinet in a climate-controlled room away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent the wood from warping or the inlay from loosening. Clean the wooden surfaces with a soft microfibre cloth and apply beeswax sparingly, avoiding abrasive cleaners on delicate inlay work.
