Small Sectretaire Bureau Bookcase C.1900

1900 - 1920
Description

Fine quality little secretaire bureau bookcase c.1900. Just 34½" wide and 66½" tall. Two door glazed bookcase top fitted inside with a single shelf and with two small drawers below. Over a cylinder top bureau with an open shelf, two drawers and a pull-out writing surface with original purple velvet top. With two more drawers below the desk. Moulded cornice with carved corbels, the doors flanked with turned and fluted columns. The columns are repeated as the legs front and rear, joined with a shaped H stretcher with a large turned finial at the centre. Walnut veneers laid to make symmetrical diamond patterns across the front and sides. Extensive brass mouldings to the cornice, drawer fronts, doors and cylinder. Further brass mounts to the columns and legs. Bevelled glass doors, satinwood lined desk interior. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Keys supplied.
