A stylish art deco set of silver handled fruit / tea knives with unusual embossed decoration to both sides of the finials with various animals and one with the Prince Of Wales feathers. A quirky mix of deer, cockerel, squirrel, fox or rat and another unidentified bird, each set in a scrolled frame and with reeded edges up the sides of the handles.
Hallmarked for Sheffield 1922, maker William Yates. The Prince Of Wales Feathers knife also has a design number running around the ferrule of Rd. 696675. The silver plated blades are marked EPNS. Set in the original purple velvet and silk lined leather case.
They measure 17.2cm (6 3/4'') long and weigh 159g.
In excellent condition with no damage or repair and very minor handling wear. The case is nice and clean inside and only a few very minor scuffs outside.
